NÈGÈS MAWON established the Antoinette Duclaire Scholarship in partnership with the MARIJÀN Feminist Organization, Fondasyon Konesans ak Libète (FOKAL), and the Antoinette Duclaire Foundation. The scholarship honors the memory, struggles, and legacy of Feminist activist Antoinette “Netty” Duclaire, who was murdered on June 29, 2021.

The scholarship launched in Les Cayes on 28 June 2023, in the presence of members of Antoinette Duclaire’s family, friends, former collaborators, members of the Chantal community, the schoolgirls the scholarship supports, and the press.

In a society where relations between men and Women remain toxic, and where the violence in them falls first on Women, it matters more than ever to dismantle those norms through a conscious and responsible education, and to build another imagination in their place: another relationship between human beings, where Women and men can live in dignity.

Fees are covered in full from 3ème Secondaire to Terminale, alongside continuous training, workshops and other support.
